Our Family Place Workshop Series returns this November! ✨
Join us every Monday from 6–7 PM for five weeks of play, learning, and connection for families with children ages 1–3. It’s a welcoming space for little ones to explore while parents connect with other families and find support as their children grow.

📣Are you a community professional who works with young children and families? We’re looking for volunteers to share their expertise with local families during our workshops! If you’d like to get involved, contact us to learn more and sign up to volunteer.

We are just a week away!

Join us for a Capoeira Workshop presented by Young Audiences with Ginga Houston and discover the rich Brazilian tradition of Capoeira. You’ll get an introduction to this unique art form, learn about its history and cultural roots, and even pick up a little Portuguese along the way!

This all-ages workshop is a chance to experience something you may have never encountered before. No experience necessary. Just come curious and ready to try something new! 🇧🇷🥁

September really flew by! 💛 We had so much fun at the library this month, and it was especially nice seeing everyone come out, get creative, and make the most of our programs.
We’re officially into October now, which means spooky season is here and we have some fun things coming up that you won’t want to miss. 👻

October at the library is looking pretty fun, if we do say so ourselves! 🎃

We’ve got some extra-special events to look forward to this month! On October 10, Ginga Houston is joining us for a hands-on Capoeira workshop where you can learn about this Brazilian tradition and experience it for yourself. October 16 brings a little supernatural nostalgia with a night dedicated to Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and on October 20, Andyroo is bringing the Halloween fun with a lively performance for the whole family! 🎶

And then… the library is turning into Pottsfield! 🍂👻 Come and celebrate Halloween with a little Over the Garden Wall magic.

Of course, that’s not all! We’ve got your usual storytimes, crafts, and other fun programs happening throughout the month.🧡

School is in full swing and BACODA would like to invite parents to join us as we discuss "Current Trends in Va**ng and Substance Use" at the La Porte Recreation & Fitness Center. Although it may not always be obvious, parents have a powerful influence when it comes to using substances! Come see how va**ng devices are "hidden in plain sight" and learn about the power of parents.
