If you haven't experienced the Family Place Library, please stop by the La Porte Branch Library today! Recently Barbara Bush Houston Literacy Foundation created several across the Houston area.

Barbara Bush Foundation completes family upgrades at 40 Houston libraries The late former First Lady Barbara Bush was renowned for her work on improving childhood literacy. Her foundation recently announced that it has completed a $1 million project to transform Houston libraries into more inviting, family-friendly spaces.

The La Porte Branch Library will close early on Thursday, July 3rd and will be closed until Monday, July 7th.

Just a friendly reminder as the holiday approaches — the library will close early at 5pm on Thursday, July 3rd and remain closed from Friday, July 4th through Sunday, July 6th. We’ll reopen at 11am on Monday, July 7th.

Now’s the perfect time to stop by and pick up your holds or find something new to dive into. Whether you're reading by the A/C or enjoying a quiet moment outdoors, don’t forget to log your books on Beanstack — it all adds up toward your Summer Reading rewards. 📚🌟
