May we bring in clothes for Mom/Dad to be cremated in? Absolutely. Bring in their favorite outfit or shirt to be dressed in. Sometimes hospice nurses, or the nurses at the adult family home or assisted living facility will be happy to dress your loved one in an outfit you pick out prior to us arriving.

What happens when not all the cremated remains fit into the urn the family purchased?

Most cremated remains weigh between 3-5 pounds, with most adult urns able to hold 200 cubic inches. The family always receives ALL of their loved one's cremated remains, even if they receive two urns instead of one.

A good question to ask a funeral home when making calls is "When my loved one is picked up, where are they taken?"

Some funeral homes do not have their own facilities and have to contract out to a third party to take care of their families. Here at Woodlawn Funeral Home, once we take your loved one into our care, the only way they leave our care is in an urn to the family or at the graveside.
