🚒 NOW HIRING: FIRE CHIEF 🚒

The City of Lacy Lakeview is looking for a full-time, paid Fire Chief to lead our fire department.

Here's what makes this job different: the firefighters you'll lead are all volunteers. You'll recruit, train, and motivate a team of people who serve because they care. If you want to build a department around that kind of dedication, this is your job.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

🔥 Command fire and rescue incidents within city limits
🔥 Oversee fire prevention, inspections, and fire cause and origin investigations
🔥 Coordinate mutual aid with surrounding cities and county, state, and federal officials
🔥 Maintain fire stations, apparatus, and equipment
🔥 Work to improve our ISO rating

THE ADMIN SIDE (a big part of this job!)
This isn't only emergency response. You'll also:
📋 Prepare and manage the department budget
📋 Write grants for equipment and personnel
📋 Write reports and ordinance recommendations for City Council
📋 Keep accurate records and training documentation
📋 Present to Council, community groups, and the media

Basic computer skills are required (email, word processing, spreadsheets, and online systems).

✔️ Valid Texas Class B (non-commercial) driver license and acceptable driving record
✔️ CPR certification
✔️ Experience leading volunteers is a plus

TCFP Basic, Fire Inspector, and Head of a Fire Department (Suppression) certifications are strongly preferred. If you don't have them yet, you'll have 12 months from hire to earn them, and the city will cover course and exam fees.

Since we had to cancel our own community event, we wanted to make sure our residents knew about another great opportunity happening today!

Texas State Technical College is hosting National Night Out from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Waco campus. There will be food, games, vendors, community resources, and plenty of opportunities to connect with students, staff, first responders, and other members of the community.

Our own Courtney Scivally will be there representing the Lacy Lakeview Police Department, so if you stop by, be sure to say hello!

We hope some of our Lacy Lakeview residents can join the fun and enjoy a great evening of community connection.
