“Evangeline’s Daughter” was a topic presented by Dr. Theriot at the Lafayette Museum.

Dr. Theriot spoke of the significance of the aging Evangeline Oak in the myth of separated lovers in the Acadian Diaspora. Lesser noticed is Evangeline’s daughter oak, growing near by. Through his power point presentation he explained the growth cycle and the natural and man-made threats to the health of these two trees and other live oaks in the Acadians area.
