🏗️ Today, we broke ground on the Small Business Success Center at the historic Holy Rosary site!

Small businesses are the backbone of Lafayette’s economy, and starting or growing one shouldn’t mean figuring it out alone. This new 8,600-square-foot Center will put training, one-on-one counseling and access to capital under one roof for Main Street businesses, solopreneurs and aspiring entrepreneurs across Lafayette, the parish and the Acadiana region.

It’s especially meaningful that this is happening at Holy Rosary, a campus built in 1913 to provide vocational and technical education. A center devoted to practical skills and self-employment is a fitting return to that original mission, and it’s the first major new construction to break ground on the 40-acre campus.

Thank you to Holy Rosary Redevelopment, the Sisters of the Holy Family, Senator Gerald Boudreaux, our small business partners and everyone who joined us today. This $5.9 million investment is possible because of your persistence and partnership.

We can’t wait to see what grows here. 🌱

🎉 More good news for Acadiana! 🎉

Leading Edge Manufacturing is expanding operations in both City of Youngsville Louisiana and City of Broussard, Louisiana — growing its workforce and ramping up production capacity across both facilities!

📈 By the numbers:
✅ 20 new direct jobs
✅ 62 current positions retained
✅ 30 estimated indirect jobs
✅ 50 total potential new job opportunities for our region

"Leading Edge Manufacturing's expansion in Youngsville and Broussard is a strong vote of confidence in Lafayette Parish's workforce and business climate and reflects the kind of sustained progress Mayors Bourque and Ritter have championed through their ongoing commitment to strengthening infrastructure and supporting business growth in their communities. This project is a win for our regional economy and the families who call Lafayette and Acadiana home."
— Mandi Mitchell, President & CEO, Lafayette Economic Development Authority
