The View from the Board | October LVPOA Meeting Recap
Something pretty special is happening in Lago Vista, and it's great to see!
For the second month in a row, we had a fantastic turnout—possibly our second-largest crowd of the year!
What impressed me most wasn't just the numbers. It was the positive energy, thoughtful questions, and collaboration between members, Board, and management.
Our basketball players, Aqua Aerobics crew, and other engaged members brought ideas and perspectives. The conversations were constructive and respectful.
Quite frankly, I find that inspiring. This is what community involvement should look like!
A few highlights from Wednesday:
Board Elections: Following a great Meet the Candidates Night, candidates returned Wednesday to introduce themselves and answer questions. Voting runs October 30–November 19. Please participate!
Bar-K Basketball Lighting: Our basketball community made a great case for evening lighting. We're exploring professional options, costs, and impacts on neighbors before revisiting this in November.
Pool Committee: We're forming a committee to give members a greater voice in pool operations, programming, and planning. Interested? Contact me!
2027 Assessments: After months of planning, the Board approved a $15 annual increase, bringing assessments to $255 for 2027. That's $1.25 per month to help cover rising costs and protect our amenities and financial health.
Marina: All 137 slips are occupied, and we're bringing back the Marina Committee! Contact me to volunteer and help shape its future.
My biggest takeaway?
People care. They're showing up, speaking up, listening, and working together.
We won't always agree, but positive, collaborative conversations help make Lago Vista an even better place to live.
Formal minutes will be published before our November 18 Board meeting. For now, I wanted to share what I saw and felt Wednesday evening.
Thank you to everyone who attended or joined online. Let's keep this momentum going!
See you around the parks!
