The problem was never the wrong people voting. It’s the right people not bothering. Republicans worry about ballots that shouldn’t be cast. We worry about ballots that never get cast.

George Weiss signed the ballot argument for Measure E. Laguna Beach voters chose not to re-elect George Weiss in 2024. That is the whole point. Laguna already has term limits, and they are called elections. Voters have ousted a sitting Council member in 2018, 2020, 2022 and 2024. Measure E would not fire anyone. It would take away your right to keep a good one.

Burying power lines. Wildfire and public safety. Laguna Canyon Road. That work takes years, and it takes Council members who know the California Coastal Commission and Caltrans by name. Measure E would end their service on a clock instead of on your vote. You can already remove any Council member you want. Vote NO on Measure E.

Your ballot is worth more this week than any post, any donation, any argument. The Democratic Party of Orange County has done the homework: Katrina Foley for Supervisor, Sue Kempf, Mayor Mark Orgill, and Alex Rounaghi for City Council. Laguna Beach Firefighters and Police Associations agree. Mail is too risky this close to Election Day. If you must use USPS, be sure to get your ballot postmarked at the counter when dropping off. Consider using a Drop Box or voting in person. The Susi Q & Community and Recreation center are both open for voting in person. 3,329 Laguna Democrats have already voted. Make it 3,330. Drop boxes close 8 PM November 3.
