From then to now.
From the very beginning, I’ve always believed that local campaigns—especially when it’s neighbor running against neighbor—should resist the urge to become negative.
I ran a hard campaign against my friend and neighbor Rob, and he ran a hard campaign against me. In the end, he got more votes than I did. I fought as valiantly as I knew how and came up a little short. That’s elections.
And I’ll tell you this about Rob: whether you agree with him on every issue or not, if you reach out to him—call, email, or make an appointment—he’ll get back with you. And if it’s within his power to help, he’ll try. If it isn’t, he’ll do his best to point you in the right direction. I have already heard this from friends within the district.
I genuinely appreciated him coming out yesterday and supporting my Men Wear Pink Wing Cookoff. . Campaigns come and go. Community and friendships ought to last a whole lot longer.
Now, nobody tell Rob this part…but next year I fully intend to convince him to put together either a Krewe of Valhalla or a Million Air team for the wing competition.
I’ll wait until next year to spring that on him, though. 😂
