Congratulations to Hannah Stewart, Julia Johnson, Jacob Praveen, and Destiny Bessera, who earned places in the choir, and Tomlinson Jojo, who was named first alternate. The Region Honor Choir will perform on November 7 at First Presbyterian Church in Fort Worth.

The following students also advanced to the Pre-Area audition on November 13:
Sam Vang, tenor, 11th chair
Lucas Nachtrieb, tenor, 9th chair
Noah Bailey, bass, 8th chair
Helen Stratton, soprano, 7th chair
Gabe Higdon, tenor, 3rd chair
Alexa Muñiz, alto, 2nd chair

The Pre-Area audition is the next step toward earning a spot in the coveted TMEA SSC All-State Choir.

Among the 17 high schools that participated, LDHS earned the second-highest number of Pre-Area placements this year. Congratulations to these students and their choir director, Mrs. Jenkins, on this outstanding accomplishment! We look forward to cheering them on as they continue the audition process.

At this year’s Community Leadership Breakfast, community leaders, educators, and local partners gathered to hear from Officer David Gomez about the impact of social media on teen mental health, behavior, and school culture.

Thank you to Officer Gomez for sharing his expertise and to everyone who joined us in support of our students. When we listen, learn, and work together, we create a stronger community for the next generation. 🦅

Fire Safety Week with the Falcons at Shady Shores Elementary! 🚒🦅

PreK 4 students in Ms. Townsend’s class learned important fire safety tips, got an up-close look at firefighters’ gear, and discovered how firefighters help keep our community safe. And the best part? Their special guest was a familiar face — their friend’s dad!

Firefighter Poston, whose daughter is in Ms. Townsend’s class, brought real firefighting equipment for students to explore. Students from the North Central Texas College Fire Science Program also joined the fun, sharing what it’s like to train for a career in firefighting.

What makes this moment even more special is that Firefighter Poston is a Falcon alumni!

A big thank-you to Firefighter Poston and the NCTC students for making fire safety fun, hands-on, and meaningful for our young Falcons! 👨‍🚒
