🦠🔬 From Petri Dishes to Microscope Slides! 🧫

Remember the bacteria students cultured from surfaces around the school? Students in Dr. Miller’s Medical Microbiology class took an even closer look!

Students prepared slides, performed Gram staining, and used microscopes to examine their samples. They investigated cell morphology (the shapes and arrangements of bacteria) and observed how different bacteria stain purple or pink, revealing differences in their cell wall structure.

These observations provide clues that help microbiologists classify bacteria and guide further testing. Students explored how staining and microscopy serve as important first steps in diagnosing bacterial infections!

Check out the photos for a glimpse of our students at work and the microscopic world they examined! 🦠🔬
