The Lake Helen Police Department, in partnership with the American Legion, has officially begun our youth bicycle, e-bike, and scooter safety initiative!

While our officers are out on patrol looking to recognize children who are riding safely, following traffic laws, using proper hand signals, stopping at stop signs, and wearing their helmets and other safety equipment. Those observed making safe choices may receive a $10 Amazon gift card!

Parents and guardians, please remind your children to ride safe, follow the rules of the road, and always wear their helmet. We’re looking forward to catching our young riders doing the right thing! 🚲🛴

🚨 SLOW DOWN 🚨

👮‍♂️ Lake Helen Police Officers were out conducting proactive speed enforcement on Main Street. During the operation, one motorist was stopped for traveling 15 MPH OVER the posted speed limit and was issued a citation.

⚠️ Main Street experiences significant pedestrian traffic, and speeding puts lives at risk! There is simply no reason to be traveling that fast in an area where pedestrians are present.

🚔 Our officers will continue conducting proactive speed enforcement throughout the city limits to keep our roadways safe.

✅ Slow down. Stay alert. Drive safely.

ALL JOKES ASIDE! This image is AI-generated, and unfortunately, Elon hasn’t delivered our flying patrol car just yet!

🚨 But our speed enforcement is VERY REAL!

Our officers will continue conducting proactive speed enforcement throughout the City of Lake Helen to keep our roadways safe.

Another successful W.A.L.K. 2 T.A.L.K. community engagement initiative for the Lake Helen Police Department in “The Woods” Subdivision!

Our mission is simple: Build relationships, strengthen trust, encourage open communication, and bring law enforcement and our community closer together.

Through face-to-face conversations and positive interactions, we continue to demonstrate that community policing is more than just responding to calls for service. It’s about being visible, approachable, accessible, and actively engaged with the residents we proudly serve.

A special thank you to Commissioner Earl Farmer and City Administrator John Brant who participated and took the time to help engage with the residents.

🚨 Keeping Our Streets Safe! 🚨

Officer Owen and Chief Beckton conducted proactive speed enforcement on Macy Avenue using the department’s handheld radar unit.

During approximately one hour of enforcement, only TWO speeding violations were observed! 👏

Unfortunately, one of the violators, described as a white male of medium build operating a red sport bike with no visible license plate, was traveling from the Cassadaga area and thought it was a good idea to flee officers and not stop.

🔎 WE NEED YOUR HELP!

If you know an individual in the Cassadaga area who operates a red sport bike matching this description, please contact the Lake Helen Police Department.

The Lake Helen Police Department has been and will continue to conduct proactive speed enforcement throughout our city. Our goal is not simply to issue citations, but to encourage responsible driving, reduce speeding, and ensure the safety of our residents, pedestrians, and motorists.

Slow Down. Drive Safely. Help Keep Lake Helen Safe!

🚨 TRAFFIC ENFORCEMENT NOTICE | COMMERCIAL TRUCK 🚛

The Lake Helen Police Department reminds commercial truck operators that City Ordinance 11.16.00 restricts large and commercial trucks to designated truck routes unless making a local delivery within city limits.

👮‍♂️ Our officers will be conducting proactive enforcement throughout the city to ensure compliance. Violators could face fines.

🗺️ We encourage all commercial vehicle operators to review the designated truck route map and plan their routes accordingly.

Our goal is to protect residential streets, reduce traffic hazards, and maintain the safety and quality of life in our community.
