The Little Learners continued our discussion of apples today by reading the story Amelia Bedelia's First Apple Pie by Herman Parish. After singing our songs and fingerplays, we had two apple activities to choose from again today: Marble-Painted Apples and Apple Pie Play Doh. A great big "Thank You" goes out to all of the grown-ups for all of their help today ~ and to Carol Thompson for all of her help, too! The kids (and adults) did great and everyone had fun! That's what it's all about!

When Miss Melanie is away...the ATLAS kids will play! ; ) Kim was in charge today so she pulled out the Legos and created some fun challenges and let their creativity take over. Man...did it ever! We are forever amazed at how their minds work ~ there's just never enough time! So...this may need to spill over into next week! Enjoy the pics!

The Fall season officially began at 4:21 p.m. yesterday. The Little Learners talked about all things fall today ~ with a focus on apples! They sang a couple songs and fingerplays about apples, read the book "Ten Apples On Top!" by Theo LeSieg, watched the story, "The Little Red House" and followed it up with the experiment to find the "star" inside the apple. They then had the option of completing two apple crafts and, of course, had some apple slices and caramel dip to wrap up the morning. It was another great day at Little Learners!
