Lake Station Police Charge Two Suspects in January 2026 Armed Robbery

On January 18, 2026, at approximately 4:16 p.m., officers with the Lake Station Police Department (LSPD) were dispatched to Boost Mobile, located at 2550 Central Avenue in Lake Station, Indiana, regarding an armed robbery.

Upon arrival, LSPD officers learned that two male suspects entered the business, with one suspect displaying a handgun, and proceeded to rob the business of numerous cellular telephones and U.S. currency. The employee was also confined inside a rear office during the robbery.

After a lengthy investigation, LSPD detectives were able to identify two individuals believed to be responsible for the robbery. Investigators utilized surveillance footage, witness statements, business records, automated license plate readers, and records associated with the subsequent sales of the cellular telephones through ecoATM kiosks to develop evidence linking the suspects to the offense.

On September 4, 2026, the following charges were filed through the Lake County Superior Court, Criminal Division 2:

Deandre Leshone Williams (already in custody in the Lake County Jail on unrelated charges):

COUNT I – Armed Robbery, a Level 3 Felony
COUNT II – Criminal Confinement, a Level 3 Felony
COUNT III – Unlawful Possession of a Fi***rm By A Serious Violent Felon, a Level 4 Felony

Milton Leroy Harvey III (currently incarcerated in Marion County, Indiana on unrelated charges):

COUNT I – Armed Robbery, a Level 3 Felony
COUNT II – Criminal Confinement, a Level 3 Felony

The Lake Station Police Department would like to thank the businesses, witnesses, and outside agencies including Flock Safety, ecoATM, Leads Online, and the Lake County Prosecutor’s Office for their assistance in this investigation.

Lake Station - Alert

Sunday August 23, 2026: LS Residents,

* Info from NIPSCO:

*Weather Head Damage and Repair Information - Process needed to safely restore power to anyone that has damage to their weather head that's connected to their homes; (usually above and connected to your home NIPSCO meter.)

* As power restoration efforts continue across our service area, some residents in the community may be unable to have service restored immediately because repairs are needed to the electrical equipment serving their home or business.

In these situations, a licensed electrical contractor must complete the necessary repairs.

*IMPORTANT: Once the work is finished, the city's building department electrical inspectors must conduct and approve an inspection to ensure the equipment is safe before NIPSCO can re-energize service at the meter attached to the home.

*For the time being, the city will not be charging permit fees for needed home repairs from this storm. Also, you can find a list of city licensed contractors on the city's website.

Lake Station - Alert

Thursday August 20, 2026: LS Residents,

* Residents may continue placing storm debris at the edge of their yards along the roadway, keeping it clear of the street, fire hydrants, and storm drains. Please give our crews plenty of room to work safely as they move through your neighborhood.

*Thank you for your continued patience as we work around the clock to recover from this storm and remove all this debris.

*Please refrain from burning storm debris. The debris is getting picked up as quickly as possible. Since the storm hit us, we have removed around 14,373 cubic yards of debris from our streets in the city. Not including today.

*IMPORTANT REMINDER:

Please report your storm damage to Indiana 211. Just dial 211 on your phone or Call 866-211-9966. Or report online at: http://www.In211.org

*This is important: The Indiana Department of Homeland Security needs these reports to help assess the damage in our county, and determine estimates. This will help officials determine the next steps in this disaster recovery process, and determine if any potential federal assistance be warranted.

*Finally, this upcoming Tuesday August 25th, from 9am-12pm. There will be a hospital outreach Minute health Clinic at the LS Fire Department to assist residents.
