Just as the City of Lakeland has grown to be a dynamic city, the Lakeland Fire Department is constantly changing to meet the diverse needs of the community. The men and women of the department are committed to providing skilled responses to any type of emergency. Our department also prides itself for the proactive efforts taken to prevent injuries, loss of lives, and loss of property. Through continuous training, efficient and effective operations, advanced equipment, and a commitment to our mission, we are prepared to meet the changing needs of our City by providing quality prevention practices and emergency services.

The Lakeland Fire Department’s Administration team joined Lakeland Regional Health’s Pediatric Halloween Parade this morning for a little reverse trick-or-treating!

We had the opportunity to go through the pediatric floor and deliver some Halloween treats and goodies.

While we wish these little ones could be celebrating Halloween at home, we hope our visit brought a few extra smiles to their day.

Congratulations to Driver Engineer Tucker Sweeney on his recent promotion!

Since joining the Lakeland Fire Department in 2022, Tucker has served downtown, learned from his fellow firefighters, and built the skills that prepared him for this next step.

We're excited to celebrate this accomplishment with Tucker and wish him continued success in his new role!

Our new Tower 15 has been delivered to Lakeland and is now being prepared for service. Crews have spent time learning the new apparatus, becoming familiar with its features, equipment, and operations before it is placed in service.

Tower 15 will remain downtown at Fire Station 1 and is expected to go into service later next month following training, equipment installation, and final preparations.

This new apparatus will replace our current 15-year-old tower and provide updated capabilities to support elevated firefighting, rescue operations, and emergency response throughout the city.

We’re excited to welcome the new Tower 15 to the LFD fleet and look forward to seeing it serving our community soon!

Congratulations to Lieutenant Joseph Allison! We recently celebrated Lt. Allison's promotion at a ceremony marking the next chapter of his career with the Lakeland Fire Department.

Lt. Allison joined LFD in November 2014 and has held several roles throughout his nearly 12 years with the department. We're excited to see him take on this new leadership role and wish him continued success!

Celebrating 24 Years of Service!

Lieutenant Joseph Delegge joined the Lakeland Fire Department in 2002 and is retiring after 24 years of dedicated service to our department and community. We had the opportunity to recognize his retirement this morning, marking the conclusion of his career with LFD.

Joey, thank you for your dedication and commitment throughout the years. We wish you all the best in this next chapter! Congratulations on your retirement! 👏

The Lakeland Fire Department welcomed participants from Lakeland Leadership for a closer look at what we do and how we serve our community.

The group started with a presentation about the department before heading out for a station tour, getting an up-close look at a fire truck, and having a chance to spray a fire hose.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the visit. We enjoyed sharing a little of what goes on behind the scenes at LFD!
