It's with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Life Member Connie Lacy. Connie began her membership in January of 1973 with the Women's Auxiliary before switching over to a riding member status. She served as the President of the Women's Auxiliary, the Training Officer, the Operations Officer, and several years on the Board. She also shaped future EMT's as an EMT Instructor. Her contributions paved the way for the Lakeside members of today. She will be missed! Celebration of Life arrangements will be posted once received.

On Friday, members of Lakeside Volunteer Rescue Squad had the privilege of joining our sister squad, Tuckahoe Volunteer Rescue Squad, in paying their respects and honoring the life and legacy of Joe Betzala.

We are grateful for the opportunity to stand alongside our fellow first responders in remembrance and support of those mourning this loss.

Our thoughts are with Joe’s family, friends, and colleagues during this difficult time.

Rain or shine, we’re proud to show up for our community. 🌈

Despite a little help from the weather, VA PrideFest was an incredible day filled with great people, plenty of smiles, and a whole lot of Pride. Lakeside Volunteer Rescue Squad was grateful for the opportunity to be there, support the event, and celebrate alongside the community we’re proud to serve.

Thank you to Virginia Pride , everyone who helped make the day possible, and everyone who stopped by to say hello. The rain may have come down, but it certainly didn’t dampen the spirit of the day. 💙🌈

Stronger communities. Brighter together.

This Labor Day, LVRS recognizes the hard work, dedication, and contributions of our members and workers throughout our community. 🇺🇸

To our EMTs, paramedics, dispatchers, fellow first responders, healthcare workers, and everyone working this holiday - thank you for the long hours, missed sleep, and quiet sacrifices that often go unseen.

To our community, we hope you have a safe, relaxing, and enjoyable Labor Day. Whether you’re grilling, traveling, spending time with family and friends, or simply taking the day to recharge, stay safe and know that if you need us, we’re only a 911 call away.

Happy Labor Day from Lakeside Volunteer Rescue Squad! 🚑 🚨 🎉

Our thoughts and condolences go out to our sister squad, Tuckahoe VRS, today on the loss of TVRS Life Member Joe Betzala. He was a great story teller, always had a joke ready for you, and would do anything to help someone in need whether he'd just met you or known you for decades. No one was a stranger to him. Joe will be greatly missed by all who knew him. In his honor and memory, share a story with a friend, make a stranger laugh, or help someone in need just like Joe did everyday.
