Join us for a craft show of items made by our senior residents! There will be 15 vendors showcasing their homemade wares. All items will be made by Westerly residents with love and care. 🧑‍🎨❤️

This event is open to the public. Folks should enter the building through the Barton Center entrances, which can be accessed by heading down the building driveways. Follow the signs. ➡️

The event will be happening on Saturday, November 7 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. and is a cash only event. People can email Allison at [email protected] with any questions or concerns. 💭

Unfortunately, there are no more vendor spots available.

We recently hosted the Cleveland Metroparks to talk about the historic events that took place in the heart of Cleveland! The speaker mentioned the Cuyahoga River fires, the start of the Metroparks, and so many other events that contributed to Cleveland's history. This was a very interesting program that spanned two hours of factual tidbits about our city. We try to incorporate historical presentations and speakers into our schedule a few times a year and with how many residents that enjoyed this, we can't wait for the next one!

We made air dry clay leaf imprints! This was a really fun and simple craft. We started by molding our clay into the desired shape or dish, picked their leaves, pressed their leaves into the clay, peel the leaf off, and then use water to smooth an edges or cracks. Once they were done with their creations, we set them aside to dry for a couple weeks and then they painted them how they wanted. And once they were all painted, they had a beautiful decorative tray! 🍁🍂🍀🍃

This summer we introduced a new activity: seated volleyball! We purchased a volleyball net and beach balls to play with then divided our residents into two teams of four. We played until one team scored ten points and then we switched players around and went to the next game. Our residents thoroughly enjoyed this activity, and we hope to offer it several times a year going forward! 🏐

We made fall wreaths! Our residents had such a blast with this craft. It started with them picking their foam mold, ribbon to wrap around it, fall leaves and flowers, and anything else they wanted to put on their wreaths. This was the first time we did a wreath craft like this, and it was a huge success! Our plan is to also have a wreath making craft every season so that our residents can change out the materials they use on the same wreath base. Scroll through to see the beautiful results! 🍂🍁

As for our activities, we have all new movies and crafts, one final craft show conversation, UNO & LCR game play, a "Resident of the Year" Award Ceremony, musical performances, a bread tasting, spooky music bingo, some great presentations, a Monster Mash Bash, and so much more! 🎃
