8th Grade Scholars are code-cracking their way through the American Revolution! 🤖📜💥
Who says history has to stay in a textbook? Today, our 8th-grade South Carolina History classes transformed into a high-stakes, robotic showdown to tackle the causes of the Revolutionary War.
Using Sphero Mini robots, our scholars stepped into the shoes of the colonists. The mission? Navigate the obstacles of Parliament’s taxes and dump color-coded "tea barrels" (representing the Stamp Act, Quartering Act, Tea Act, and more) straight into the blue tape "Boston Harbor!" 🌊
Once the acts were mastered, it was a flat-out drag race to dump all six barrels in perfect chronological order. ⏱️🏎️
Our scholars weren't just memorizing dates—they were moving, problem-solving, coding, and debating history the entire period. Talk about revolutionary learning! Way to show that Tiger Pride! 💡🐯

📖 The Tigers Guild Book Club took over the Lamar Public Library today, and it was an absolute blast! 🐯✨
Our amazing students had an unforgettable visit filled with stories, new discoveries, and so much fun.
Here is a look at what made today so special:
First-Time Library Cards: Students officially leveled up their reading game by applying for and receiving their very own library cards! 💳📚
Personal Checkout: Everyone got to browse the shelves and check out books dedicated entirely to their own personal enjoyment and favorite genres.
Games & Prizes: The excitement was high as students played games for chances to win some awesome prizes! 🎲🎁
Creative Crafts & Snacks: The library treated everyone to delicious snacks while students got creative crafting their very own seasonal bookmarks. ✂️🍂
Special Guest Star: A major highlight of the day was getting to meet and pet Runt, the library’s resident pet rabbit! 🐇❤️

A very special shoutout and thank you goes to Ms. Ann and all the wonderful ladies at the Lamar Public Library for being such incredible hosts. We also want to give a massive thank you to our school librarian, Mrs. Goodson, for bringing the Tigers Guild Book Club students out to enjoy this amazing experience at the public library.

What a week to be a Tiger! 🐅✨
Spaulding Middle School absolutely brought the energy for Homecoming Week, showing out every single day with incredible school spirit! From dressing up for our themed spirit days to rocking our purple and gold, our Tiger pride was unmatched.
The highlight of the week came under the Friday night lights! In front of an amazing, cheering crowd, we officially crowned our Homecoming King and Queen! 👑🎉 Congratulations to our royalty—you represent the very best of our SMS community!
To top off an already unforgettable week, our Tigers took care of business on the field and brought home a massive football win! 🏈💪
Thank you to all the students, staff, parents, and fans who made this homecoming week one for the history books. Keep that Tiger spirit flying high!

🎉 It is with sincere honor to announce that Spaulding Middle School has earned a Good rating on the 2025-2026 report card with a 6 point increase from the previous year! This achievement reflects the dedication and teamwork of our entire school community. We are proud of our scholars and the hard work that show everyday.

Nov. 2 is going to be a busy day and we need help! Schools will be closed and all DCSD employees will be at Darlington Middle School for a full day of professional development. Approximately 1100 people! That's a lot of adults to feed, so we're calling all food trucks and food vendors. 🎨 From Modeling Clay to Masterpieces! 🌽🍎

Our Career Exploration class is creating 3D models of agriculture and natural resources. Students put their creativity to work by creating 3D food models using modeling clay! 👏🏽💚 Through this hands-on activity, students explored different food groups, learned about healthy eating, and discovered how agriculture connects to the food we eat every day.

From fruits and vegetables to grains and proteins, our students showed that learning can be both fun and meaningful! 🌾🥦🍓
We’re growing knowledge, building creativity, and planting the seeds for a healthier future—one project at a time! 🌎💚

🏐💛💙The volleyball season will finish up the Middle School SEC Tournament on October 17th at Lee Central Middle School. Our Spaulding LadyTigers play 10 am with $7 admission. Come out and support our Lady Tigers as they go for the championship.

Homecoming Week is officially here, and our students will be bringing that Tiger energy! 🐯✨SMS will be celebrating Homecoming from October 12-16. with a different theme each day and the game on Wednesday night at LHS. We can't wait to see our students come together, show off their creativity, and make some great memories.
