Last Friday, the Core Class hit the road for County Tour! 🚌 From behind-the-scenes experiences to local history and innovation, participants explored the many things that make Lancaster County unique.
We kicked off the day at Penn Medicine Park with the Lancaster Stormers, getting a behind-the-scenes look at the stadium, including the suites and press box. Then, with fantastic tour guides Heather Valudes and Molly Crouser of the Lancaster Chamber, we hit the road to learn more about the county’s history, people, and communities.
Our first stop was Lancaster County Solid Waste Management Authority (LCSWMA), where Core Class alumni Joey Frymyer and Michelle Brown shared how innovative approaches are transforming waste management. Next, Matt Fahnestock welcomed us to Discover Lancaster to explore the many ways to experience Lancaster County, whether you're visiting or call it home. Of course, no stop is complete without a sweet treat from Mr. Sticky’s!
We continued to Kitchen Kettle Village for lunch, samples, and a scavenger hunt exploring the village’s rich history with Ty Sheaffer, Lisa Horn, and Laura Robbins before wrapping up the day at High Steel Structures. There, Greg Weitzel, President of High Steel University, and the High Steel team gave participants an inside look at the manufacturing process behind the structures that shape our region.
A huge thank-you to all our hosts, tour guides, alumni, and community partners who made County Tour such a memorable experience! Days like these offer a meaningful reminder of the people, places, and organizations that make Lancaster County such a special place to live, work, and lead. 💛
