We had our annual poster contest for third and fourth grade students. This year's theme was "Soil. Where It All Begins". Our chairman Joshua Sprague was there to recognize the winners. (Pictured with the kids and the art teacher Mrs. Kassens)

Big thank you to Schuyler R-1 School District for letting us put this on every year, and the art teacher Mrs. Kassens for working with the SWCD to get the kids involved.

It is an election year for the Schuyler County SWCD. 2 Board members terms are up. We are Holding an in-person election February 6th at the Schuyler County Community Center in Glenwood at 12pm, we will also be serving lunch to the landowners that come to vote.

Voter Eligibility is defined on the lower portion of the ballot.
If you are unable to attend the event February 6th but would still like to vote, the voting period is open until February 20th. You can stop by the USDA office to cast your vote or mail it into our office at 205 South Green Street Lancaster, MO 63548.

Seeking Nominations for the 2025 Board Election Year!

For areas 2 & 4

The Schuyler County SWCD is Seeking Nominations for Board members from Area’s 2 & 4 highlighted in picture below.

Nomination period is November 1-30, 2025.

Voting period will be February 1-20, 2026.

The qualifications required to be a supervisor are:

1. Being a land representative from the district (10 CSR 70-4.010 (1) (I)). A land representative is defined as the owner or representative authorized by power of attorney of any farm lying within an area proposed to be established, and subsequently established, as a soil and water conservation district under Chapter 278, RSMo. Each farm is entitled to representation by a land representative: provided, however that the land representative is a taxpayer of the county within which the soil and water district is located.

2. Residing in, or owning a farm in, the area from which he/she is nominated where there is an expiring term.

3. Being a cooperator of the district, defined as, "a person who is actively engaged in farming and practices conservation activities related to agriculture".

4. Being a current resident and tax-paying citizen of the county for at least two years preceding the election date.

5. Be eighteen (18) years of age or older by the election date
