Good morning everyone, today is the last day to sign up for the October 3rd Community Workday. Info below. Hope to see you there!
Roll Up Your Sleeves. Make an Impact. Celebrate Together.
Saturday, October 3, 2026 | 9:00 AM–12:00 PM
Lindsay Pettus Greenway – Nature Pavilion
Lancaster Promise Neighborhood is excited to join Catawba Riverkeeper and the Lindsay Pettus Greenway for a Community Day dedicated to cleaning and caring for one of our community’s shared outdoor spaces.
Whether you’re ready to get in the creek or prefer to stay on dry land, there’s a place for everyone to serve!
CHOOSE HOW YOU SERVE
🌊 Creek Clean-Up
Ready to get a little adventurous? Volunteers can wade into the creek to help remove trash and debris. Waist-high waders will be provided to help keep you protected from the muddy water. We especially encourage volunteers to register early for the in-creek clean-up. Selecting this option lets Catawba Riverkeeper know that our site needs additional waders available for volunteers.
🗑️ Greenway Clean-Up
Prefer to stay dry? No problem! Volunteers can help collect trash and debris along designated areas of the Greenway.
For volunteer registration, visit www.lpnsc.org or contact Noelle Washington at 803-313-4141.
WHAT TO EXPECT
We will gather at the Lindsay Pettus Greenway Nature Pavilion at 9:00 AM and organize into teams of approximately 3–4 volunteers. Each group will receive an assigned area and the tools needed to get started.
Around 11:30 AM, teams will begin wrapping up and moving collected trash to designated Greenway locations so the City of Lancaster can assist with disposal. We’ll also document our impact by taking photos and weighing collected items.
Please return all borrowed tools and waders to the Nature Pavilion between 11:30 AM and noon.
THEN, LET’S CELEBRATE! 🎶🌭
After the work is done, stick around for a FREE Riversweep Volunteer Celebration from 12:00–2:00 PM at the Nature Pavilion!
We’ll have music, food from the grill, and fellowship as a special thank-you to everyone who gives their time to make our community cleaner and stronger.
