Kayla Lunsford, Garrard County Extension Agent for Family and Consumer Science, made a couple of charcuterie boards for our Garrard County High School 4-H Teen Club. You will see the stark difference between the before and after. Once you unleash end-of-the-day hungry teenagers on anything, the result is a catastrophic demise of the once beautiful creation. They were briefly admired and thoroughly enjoyed.

In addition to the good food, they wrote thank you cards to Kayla and Lisa, and they also wrote one to someone in their life that warrants a thank you card. We don’t write enough or say it enough. I hope the value of a written thank you card is something they will value in the future.

Tomorrow in Garden Club, we will cover the care and maintenance of garden tools. Participants will have the opportunity to win a 4-tine cultivator tool, and we will have some other garden giveaways! Don't miss it. This program is free and begins at 4pm at the Garrard County Extension Office!

What a great time in support of the Garrard County Go Getters Homemaker Club and Garrard County Animal Shelter. Chili was delicious. The fellowship was, if possible, was even better. Love to see these kinds of community-driven events.

We had a great event last Friday night at the Garrard County Extension Office. Our annual PumpkinPalooza had food, educational tables, some candy, and, of course, decorating pumpkins (painted and carving). A wonderful crowd came through and we had discussions this morning about what we can do better for next year. Thank you to everyone who came out last week.

4-H Summer Camp dates are officially out and our traditional week of camp has changed. We will be at North Central 4-H Camp on July 5-9, 2027. The process to register for 4-H Camp is also different this year. All registrations will be done through 4-H Online, so you will need to be an enrolled member to go through the registration process.

Cost has not been set, at this time. Camp Registration is not open yet. Because this process is new, I would encourage anyone who may be interested in attending camp or being involved in any 4-H Program to enroll now rather than later.
