We don't want Public Power Week to go by without giving a big THANK YOU to our Lansdale Electric team!

Whether they're working behind the scenes to keep the lights on or getting them back on when the occasional wildlife visitor decides to explore a substation, our Electric Department is always there when we need them.

But their impact goes well beyond keeping the power flowing. As a municipally owned utility, Lansdale Electric also helps support the many Borough departments and services that make Lansdale such a great place to live, work and play.

So during Public Power Week, we're sending a little extra appreciation to the team that keeps Lansdale powered and our community moving. Thank you for all that you do!

The holidays are right around the corner, and we all know how quickly the calendar fills up with shopping, events and family gatherings. Why add traffic and parking to the list of things to worry about?

Here's some good news! SEPTA has reduced its parking garage rate through the end of the year, making it even easier to leave the car behind and let someone else do the driving.

So whether you're heading into the city for some holiday fun or just checking a few things off your shopping list, park the car, hop on the train and enjoy the ride. You've got enough to do this holiday season without worrying about the drive!

Big news! The daily rate for all parking garages (Frankford Transit Center, Lansdale Station, and Norristown Transit Center) is reduced from $4 to $2 now thru 12/31/26!

A large tree came down near Sycamore and Yorktown, taking down power lines. To safely clear the area, Lansdale Electric will need to de-energize the entire street for a few hours.

This is an emergency situation and crews are working to get everything cleared and power restored as safely as possible.

For those wondering what took down our power Wednesday morning…apparently a young raccoon thought the main substation looked like a pretty great jungle gym! Unfortunately, that decision didn’t end well for the raccoon as they came into contact with a 34,000-volt conductor, causing the outage.

The good news? Lansdale Electric crews were on it and had power back on before 6am. Many thanks to our crews for getting things taken care of so quickly. Next time little guy, we recommend skipping the electrical spaces and checking out one of our many parks instead!!!
