Yesterday, I had the opportunity to speak at the Protect our Care Sick of it! Lansing press conference. The Sick of it! bus stop tour has been going across the country to highlight rising healthcare costs, and federal attacks to roll back Medicaid and the Affordable Care Act. We continue to see hospitals, clinics, and nursing homes across our state shut down due to health care cuts. Michigan families deserve access to quality, affordable healthcare without undue hardship. We must work to protect Medicaid, the Affordable Care Act, and lower prescription drug costs here in Michigan, because families should never have to make the impossible decision between paying for essentials like rent and groceries, or visiting a doctor when they’re in need.
