🌾🍽 Congratulations to Grow Jackson for another successful harvest dinner, and for the opening of your new River & Rail Farm Stop/Food Hub!! These food hubs provide a place for farmers to sell their products, and for communities to buy local, fresh food - with 70% of the funds going directly back to farmers, unlike the only 15% through big box grocery stores. These farm stops and food hubs are essential to Michigan's economy and we need more across the state!

On this , I'm thrilled we now have a fully-staffed, first-in-the-nation Office of Tribal Lesiglative Liaison - systematically ensuring indigenous people are driving state policymaking that affects them. I was proud to lead this bill & secure funding for the office and we've been sharing how we did it with other states across the US. I choose to honor our indigenous peoples through action, and we have a LOT more work to do 🪶
