Habitat for Humanity Capital Region

🏡 Thank you to Suits and the City, Jackson, Eaton Community Bank, and Lansing Area AIDS Network for joining us for our second annual Pride Build! As our presenting partner, Suits and the City helped bring LGBTQIA+ community members and allies together for four days of building.

Our LGBTQIA+ neighbors face unique barriers to safe, affordable housing, making housing equity and inclusive homeownership opportunities especially important. 🏳️‍🌈 Every family deserves a place to call home, and we’re proud to build that future together!

Presenting partners Suits and the City are closing out the week with Day 4 of Pride Build! 🏳️‍🌈 Homebuyer partner Souci joined in, earning sweat equity hours and helping build her own future porch!

We are so honored and thankful to work with Suits and the City, an organization of LGBTQ+ professionals who create meaningful networking opportunities that celebrate authenticity, foster community, and support professional growth in the mid-Michigan area.

Keep your eyes peeled for next week's wrap-up and thank-you post, a giant photo album, and the best part: seeing the before and after. 🏡 Thank you so much to Suits for helping us host the second annual Pride Build!

Our good friends at Jackson are here for Day 3 of Pride Build! 💪 Jackson is also a Lead Sponsor of Valencia Blvd., and continues to invest year after year in affordable Capital Region housing.

The porches on Edward and Souci's future homes are taking shape! Thank you so much to Jackson for volunteering with us and helping these two houses truly look like homes. It's a lot of hard work, but Jackson gets it done! 🏡

We are so excited to share photos from Day 1 of our second annual Pride Build! 🌈

Today, we had presenting partners Suits and the City as well as Lansing Area AIDS Network out at Valencia Blvd., working on the porches of Edward and Souci's future homes. Souci also stopped by during lunch to share her story!

Thank you so much to Suits and LAAN for their hard work!

Thank you to our friends at Eaton Community Bank for visiting Valencia Blvd. for our $75,000 check presentation in support of Habitat Capital Region’s homebuyer education classes! 🏡 They are also Lead Sponsors for the ten-home project.

After the presentation, the Eaton team joined staff for a tour of the homes and left something special behind: well-wishes signed directly onto boards inside Edward and Souci’s future homes. Those messages will be built into the finished homes, forever a reminder of community support and encouragement.

We’re so grateful to Eaton Community Bank for investing in affordable homeownership in the Capital Region! 🔨

We’re excited to announce that we’re receiving a $75,000 Community Multiplier – Member Match grant from Eaton Community Bank and Federal Home Loan Bank of Indianapolis.

With these funds, we can provide homebuyer financial education classes, a crucial part of Habitat for Humanity Capital Region’s homeownership program. These classes help prepare local families for successful, sustainable homeownership throughout the Capital Region.

We had a great time having the MSU Pre-Street Medicine Student Group out this past Friday! 🎉

This student group is dedicated to bridging the gap between healthcare and those experiencing homelessness - perfectly aligned with our mission. They spent the day helping to winterize and landscape for the Lansing ReStore. 💪

Thank you so much to these hard-working students for all of their help volunteering with us!
