Shout-out to our Chair, Ayesha Ghazi Edwin, for her interview with University of Michigan News highlighting Michigan’s growing AANHPI communities.

Chair Ayesha spoke about immigration, language access, and building real political power so that all communities can participate, organize, lead, and be heard in our democracy.

We are grateful for her leadership and for partners like Asian Pacific Islander American Vote Michigan, Rising Voices, and many others who advance this work every day. Thank you as well to Jayeeta Chowdhury-Woodstrup for lifting up this important conversation.

Analysis based on University of Michigan and regional reporting highlights that Michigan's rapidly growing Asian American and Pacific Islander population—including 400,000 residents—faces significant institutional neglect, with nearly 40% reporting no contact from political parties.
