🌱 Small steps can make a big difference in building a more sustainable future!

💙 Is This Your First MLA Annual Conference? You belong!

Walking into a conference for the first time can feel like a lot. Where do I go? Which sessions should I attend? What if I don’t know anyone? Am I supposed to network with everyone?!

Good news: you don’t have to have it all figured out.

Come as you are. Pick the sessions that interest you. Introduce yourself when you feel comfortable. Take a break when you need one. Ask MLA staff and volunteers for help. And remember: every longtime conference attendee was a first-timer once, too.

We put together this First-Time Attendee Checklist to make your first MLA Annual Conference a little easier. Save it now, pack your comfortable shoes and charger, and know that Michigan’s library community is looking forward to welcoming you. 📚✨

First-timers: what are you most excited about? Conference veterans: what advice would you add? 👇
