Join local artist and anthropologist Annie Sheng for a hands-on painting workshop inspired by surrealist art, favorite foods, and places that bring us comfort. Explore your imagination and create your own surreal food landscape using pencil and watercolor!

No experience necessary, and you don’t need to have attended the first session to join!

Teens and adults are invited to explore the art of calligraphy at Lansing Community Library!

Learn basic flourishing strokes, combine them into elegant designs, and create a one-of-a-kind greeting card to take home. No prior calligraphy experience is needed—beginners are welcome!

Join us this Saturday for a special hands-on art workshop with local artist and anthropologist Annie Sheng!

Explore the connections between food, memory, place, and comfort. Learn about surrealist art and “terroir”—the taste of the land—and create your own surreal food landscape using pencil and watercolor. 🖌️

You’ll also have a chance to explore Annie’s food landscape paintings and installations inspired by interviews with Tompkins County residents.

The Lansing PTSO and Lansing Community Library are teaming up again to make Halloween fun, affordable, and sustainable for everyone!

✨ Have a costume to share? Drop it off at the circulation desk.
✨ Need a costume? Stop by and browse the exchange. Find one you love? It’s yours!

📍 Where: Library Community Room (lower level)
