Michigan law is clear: under MCL 168.931, giving or promising money, gifts, or other things of value to influence how someone votes is prohibited.

As a member of the House Election Integrity Committee and the Select Committee on Rules and Procedures of the State Board of Canvassers and Bureau of Elections, I am calling for a hearing to examine an incident involving a candidate’s spouse distributing free $10 gas cards alongside apparent campaign activity.

Multiple videos and media footage have raised questions, including allegations that recipients received campaign stickers in connection with the giveaway. These allegations deserve a thorough, impartial review to determine whether the law was violated.

I am hopeful my colleagues will take this issue seriously. Candidates and their campaigns must follow the law, and voters deserve transparency, accountability, and confidence in the integrity of our elections.

Here’s how we’re working to combat food insecurity in our community.

Addressing food insecurity takes more than looking at statistics. It means listening to residents, understanding the challenges families are facing, investing in solutions through our state budget, and partnering with community organizations that are doing the work on the ground.

When we listen to our neighbors and turn those conversations into action, we can build a healthier community where everyone has access to the food they need to thrive. 🌱

I’m excited about the upcoming Forgotten Harvest Mobile Food Pantry event in Roseville, which will help connect our senior citizens and surrounding community with the food they need.

Details for the mobile food pantry will be in the comments.

🏙️ State of the City with Mayor Lori M. Stone

I’m excited to hear about the incredible development, growth, and services happening in my hometown of Warren, along with the vision for what’s ahead!

Tonight, I’m joining Mayor Lori Stone to learn more about our city’s accomplishments, the hard work of the people who keep our city running, and what we still need to do to meet the needs of our residents.

A strong city doesn’t happen by accident. It takes dedicated public servants, thoughtful leadership, and a community that continues to invest in its future.

Thank you to Mayor Stone, our City Council members, department leaders, and every city employee who works hard to make our community a great place to live, raise a family, work, and retire. Your work makes a difference in the lives of our residents every single day. ❤️

Here’s to celebrating how far we’ve come and continuing to build an even stronger future for our community!

For Dave and his family, home healthcare isn’t a luxury. It’s a lifeline.

Dave and his wife both work full-time while caring for their elderly parents and their disabled adult son, Kyle, who doctors never expected to grow into adulthood.

Because of the care and support they’ve received, they’ve been able to raise Kyle and give him the life he deserves.

Recently, his healthcare coverage has been cut in half. Now they’re facing the heartbreaking reality that they can no longer afford the full-time care he needs.

Their daughter, Hayley, recently graduated with student loan debt and is struggling to find a stable, good-paying job. Beyond the financial stress, she carries a fear no young woman should have to face alone: What will happen to my brother when our parents are no longer here to care for him?

On top of all this, the cost of groceries, gas, and everyday necessities keeps climbing. They’re doing everything they can to make ends meet.

This is what so many families are facing right now. Working hard, doing everything they can for the people they love, and still struggling to make ends meet.

Life shouldn’t have to be this hard.

Dave and his family deserve peace of mind. They deserve to know that the care Kyle depends on will be there tomorrow, and that their family’s future isn’t something they have to live in constant fear of losing.

I’m thinking of them and every family carrying these worries. As state representative, I will continue doing everything in my power to protect access to healthcare, make life more affordable, and ensure families don’t have to face these challenges alone.

Because behind every policy and every budget decision are real lives, and families who are counting on us to get it right. 💙

Ladies, you know pink is my favorite color, but this month it’s extra special because it’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month! Take a moment to care for yourself. 💝

Many of us know someone whose life has been impacted by breast cancer. It might be our mother, sister, daughter, friend, coworker, or someone we love dearly. Some are fighting right now, some are survivors, and some families are carrying the heartbreak of losing someone they love.

Behind every statistic is a real person, a family, and a story that matters.

1 in 8 women in the United States will develop breast cancer in their lifetime.

An estimated 321,910 women will be diagnosed with invasive breast cancer in 2026.

Nearly 1 in 10 women diagnosed with breast cancer is younger than 45.

Let’s do more than wear pink, take action for ourselves and the people we love:

🎀 Schedule your mammogram. For women ages 40–74 at average risk, the current recommendation is a mammogram every two years. Talk with your healthcare provider about what's right for you.

🎀 Pay attention to changes in your body. If you notice something unusual, talk to your healthcare provider.

🎀 Talk with your family about cancer history and share that information with your doctor. It can help you understand your risk and whether you need earlier or additional screening.

🎀 Check on someone you love and the people in your life to prioritize their health. Sometimes, showing up makes all the difference.

🎀Help spread awareness, support local organizations serving patients and families, and remind the people around you that they don't have to face this alone.

Breast cancer doesn't just affect the person diagnosed. It affects the people who love them, too. And while we can’t prevent every case, early detection can make a difference.

I recently joined my friend John for a ride on the SMART bus here in Warren, and it was a reminder of just how important public transportation is to people in our community.

John is a disabled adult who is unable to drive, so public transit has been essential to helping him get to school, get to work, and live his life with greater independence.

For John, the bus is more than just a ride. It’s a connection to opportunity, to his community, and to the things so many of us take for granted every day.

As a state representative, I’ll continue to support public transportation to ensure that everyone, regardless of their abilities or circumstances, has access to affordable and reliable transportation and the opportunity to live, work, and thrive.

When we support public transit systems like SMART, we are investing in people like John.

Huge shoutout to the Lakeview Huskies and Lakeview Public Schools and the two sophomore students who organized such a meaningful and fun parade this past Friday.

We walked from the newly opened St. Clair Shores Public Library to Lakeview High School. It was great handing out candy, high-5’s and seeing all the family members who came out to support our students.

Thank you to the teachers, school board members, staff and administrators who show up everyday to support our children (many of whom are much taller than me 😂). It was an honor walking alongside you and hearing about your students’ success stories.

I am equally as proud as you are of our students. 💙🐾
