Can you guess where the Squad is? 👀

We ventured to a place in Michigan with rocks that are absolutely picturesque. With over 300 waterfalls and 1,700 miles of Great Lakes shoreline, this location was also home to Michigan State basketball coach Tom Izzo for some time!

… Any guesses?

What do foam cups, Styrofoam packaging and Styrofoam takeout containers all have in common? They can’t be recycled in your curbside cart! Styrofoam and other similar foam materials can be recycled only at drop-off locations.

Find a drop-off near you at https://recyclingraccoons.org/recyling-rules/frank/.

If you find yourself talking about recycling on your first date, you can take this piece of info to your next meetup: Plastic bags don’t go into your recycling cart, but they can go to most nearby retailers/grocers.

Gladys here, and I’m positively shining! I love watching the recycling truck take my materials off to be made into something brand-new. Knowing my curbside bin will help make new bottles, jars and sometimes even new countertops — with less energy than creating them from scratch? The benefits are crystal clear!

Nyla present! In your house there are two plastics: recyclable and not recyclable. And the key to knowing the difference is The Basics of plastic recycling!

Common household items like OJ bottles and peanut butter jars are recyclable after being rinsed, while plastic bags or delivery packaging should be taken to your local grocer (like Meijer or Kroger) instead!

Wondering where to place your common household recyclables? Skip the trash can! Recycling will give those tuna cans, delivery boxes, yogurt cups, mason jars and envelopes a chance to become something new.

Frank here with the shocking truth on batteries — they’re not recyclable curbside! And that’s something that’s true no matter where you live in Michigan.

That’s because some batteries can hold toxic chemicals or an additional charge and can cause fires in collection vehicles or recycling centers. So it’s best to just take them to local collection spots! Find a local take-back or mail-back program at https://recyclingraccoons.org/batteries/.

Frank back from my trip! Now, you may not have guessed it, but the residents here were great recyclers. They just needed help getting their recyclables back to the curbside cart.
