Thank you to Governor Gretchen Whitmer, State Senator Jeff Irwin, State Representative Kristian Grant, and Joseph Aragona - State Representative for their leadership and commitment to housing progress, including the creation of the Michigan Housing Opportunity Tax Credit.

The new state tax credit is a huge step forward in expanding affordable housing across our state. By working alongside the federal Low‑Income Housing Tax Credit, the state tax credit will strengthen the development pipeline, remove barriers, and help more projects move from idea to construction. It means more affordable homes, stronger tools for developers, and continued growth for communities statewide.

MSHDA joined the The City Of Ann Arbor - Government Housing Commission, Related Midwest, and many other housing partners to break ground for the Adeline, a new affordable housing development downtown Ann Arbor.

When complete, the Adeline will bring 330 affordable homes to the heart of downtown, among all of the amenities the city has to offer. This development shows how housing connects everything — from where people live, work, and pursue an education to the community where they build their lives.

MSHDA is proud to support this first of it's kind project in Ann Arbor, through Low-Income Housing Tax Credits, and other investments that help close funding gaps and push projects from ideas to action.
