Today, the members of the Lapoint-Tridell Fire Department join our community and nation in remembering September 11, 2001.

We honor the 343 FDNY firefighters, 71 law enforcement officers, 55 military service members, and thousands of innocent civilians who lost their lives on that tragic day. When chaos unfolded, brave men and women ran toward danger without hesitation, laying down their lives for strangers.

As a local department, we are reminded today of what it truly means to answer the call and serve one another. May we never take their courage for granted, and may we always honor the sacrifice of those who never came home.

Please join us today in keeping the fallen, their families, and all first responders in your thoughts and prayers.

🚨 A FALSE ALERT. A REAL REMINDER.

Over the weekend, many Utah residents received an unexpected evacuation alert related to the Rocky Canyon Fire near Henefer. The alert was distributed more broadly than intended, and officials quickly clarified which areas actually needed to evacuate.

While most people who received the alert did not need to leave, it raised an important question:

If a real “GO” order came for our area, would your family be ready?

You don't want to figure that out when the evacuation order is already in your phone.

🔥 BE READY BEFORE YOU NEED TO GO:

📱 Know where to get information
• Sign up for local emergency alerts
• Follow official local sources
• Have a backup way to receive information

🏠 Have a family plan
• Know multiple ways out of your neighborhood
• Pick meeting places
• Know who is responsible for kids, pets, medications, and important documents
• Practice your plan

🎒 Keep a GO BAG ready
• Water & food
• Medications & first aid
• Important documents
• Flashlight & batteries
• Phone charger/power bank
• Change of clothes & sturdy shoes
• Pet supplies
• Cash and a paper contact list

đźš— Keep your vehicle ready
Don't wait until an evacuation order to discover you're running on empty.

And if you are ordered to evacuate:

GO EARLY. TAKE THE ESSENTIALS. FOLLOW OFFICIAL ROUTES.

Don't rely on rumors or social media posts to decide whether you should leave. Verify information through official sources.

Yesterday's alert may have been a false alarm for many people.

The next one might not be.

Take a few minutes tonight to talk with your family about what you would do.

🚨 IMPORTANT FIRE SAFETY ALERT: STAGE 1 FIRE RESTRICTIONS 🚨

Attention residents and visitors of Uintah County:
Due to current and forecasted weather conditions and extremely dry vegetation, the Utah Division of Forestry, Fire and State Lands has issued a Stage 1 Fire Restriction Order for unincorporated state and private areas of Uintah County, effective as of 12:01 a.m. on June 24, 2026.

As your local fire department, the Lapoint-Tridell Fire Department asks that everyone please take these restrictions seriously to help prevent accidental wildfires in our community.

What is prohibited?
đźš« No open fires (except in approved, developed campgrounds with pressurized water or permanent fire pits at private residences with pressurized water).
đźš« Smoking, except within an enclosed vehicle, trailer, building, or paved/cleared areas.
đźš« Use of fireworks, tracer am******on, or pyrotechnic devices/exploding targets.
đźš« Cutting, welding, or grinding metal in areas with dry vegetation.
đźš« Operating small internal combustion engines (motorcycles, ATVs, chainsaws) without a working spark arrestor.

Failure to follow these restrictions is a violation of state law and is punishable by up to 6 months in jail and a fine of up to $1,000.

Please help us keep our community safe and fire-free. Stay vigilant and use caution when enjoying the outdoors.
