Our La Porte High School health careers students became teachers again this year!

Earlier this month, for the second year, they taught Hands-Only CPR to kindergarten through fourth-grade students at Kingsford Heights Elementary School, and they’re heading to every LPCSC elementary school.

Lifesaving skills, shared by students preparing for careers in health care. Thank you to health careers teacher Tabitha Hughes for your dedication to your craft, and to the Health Foundation of La Porte for your generous support of our health careers program.

351 La Porte High School students earned qualifying AP exam scores in the 2025-26 school year. A qualifying score (a 3 or higher) means many colleges will award credit before a student ever steps on campus.

Together, those scores add up to 1,053 college credits and an estimated $430,000 in tuition savings for Slicer families, based on average per-credit tuition at Indiana public universities.

We’re proud of the work these Slicers and their teachers put in. AP coursework at LPHS is one more way our students graduate ready for what’s next.
