NOTICE: Water at the dump station has been shut off for the season. The sewer receptacle remains open. Water service will resume when temperatures allow in the spring.

Also, a brief sidenote: these pictures celebrate something that has not happened since the winter of 2025: measurable snow at the Prison! A huge thanks to our maintenance team currently working to clear off walkways and porches throughout the site.

It's hard to believe that the 2026 Pumpkin Walk is less than 24 hours away! We just have a few reminders for everyone leading up to tomorrow:
1.) The site is ONLY open from 10AM to 1PM tomorrow. We will spend the rest of the day setting up and tearing down.
2.) The event is free, with a suggested $5 donation. If you can donate, it helps us continue to put on this event...we appreciate your generosity!
3.) To avoid parking hazards and conflicts, the dump station will be CLOSED from 9AM to 2PM. We will reopen it after that timeframe.

Well, it is that time of year again where the leaves are turning, the nights are cooling and the pumpkins are walking...wait. That's right! Pumpkin Walk is coming to the Territorial Prison again this year, this time on Saturday, October 3rd from 10AM to 1PM. The 2026 Wyoming Archaeology Fair is THIS Saturday from 10 am until 3 pm at the Wyoming Territorial Prison State Historic Site. This event is FREE and open to the public. We hope to see you all there!

See you this weekend for the Wyoming Archaeology Fair! 🦣☀️

FREE, Family-Friendly & Open to the Public
📅September 12 from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.
📍Wyoming Territorial Prison State Historic Site

All ages are welcome to learn more about the state's cultural heritage with multiple hands-on activities, including:
🏹 how to make an arrowhead,
🦣 throwing a spear with an atlatl,
⚱️making pottery,
🐇 painting rabbit hides,
and more!

Our special guests will be the Wind River Dancers, who perform from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.
