🚧 Traffic Alert: I-35 Closure in Laredo 🚧

Motorists should plan ahead for a complete 15-minute closure of both northbound and southbound I-35 at Garza St., between Sanchez St. and Callaghan St., to allow AEP Texas crews to perform work within the state right of way.

🚨 TRAFFIC ALERT: SH 97 – COTULLA, TX 🚨

Motorists traveling through Cotulla should be aware that SH 97 is currently blocked by a train. Please note that this is not a train derailment.

🚛 Commercial motor vehicle traffic is being detoured via the Joel Rodriguez Loop (JR Loop) from SH 97.

🚌 Cotulla ISD school buses will also utilize the JR Loop to safely transport students throughout the school day until the situation is resolved.

⚠️ Expect detours, increased traffic, and travel delays in the area. Please drive cautiously, follow all posted signs, and allow extra travel time.

W. Del Mar Blvd. under I-35 has reopened to traffic ahead of schedule. Congratulations to local wrecker service providers, the Laredo Police Department, and the Laredo Maintenance Section and the South Texas Regional Advanced Transportation Information System (STRATIS) team of TxDOT for their well-coordinated traffic incident management work. Traffic Alert: Upper Counties Striping Operations

VAL VERDE, KINNEY, MAVERICK & ZAVALA COUNTIES – Pavement striping operations are underway throughout the upper counties of the Laredo District and are expected to continue for approximately three weeks. Motorists can expect mobile work zones on portions of US 90, US 277, US 57, US 239, and FM 481. Slow down, stay alert, and watch for crews and equipment. Minor delays are possible.

Striping Convoy Safety Tips

🚧 Stay Back: Keep a safe distance behind striping convoys to avoid wet paint and maintain visibility.

🚧 Don't Pass: Never pass or cut into the convoy unless directed by traffic control personnel.

🚧 Avoid Fresh Paint: Watch for signs, cones, and markers indicating wet paint.

🚧 Expect Brief Delays: Striping operations are mobile, and traffic impacts are typically short-lived.
