City Leadership & Emergency Management Monitoring Upcoming Weather 🌧️⚠️

Earlier today, Mayor Dr. Victor D. Trevino, along with Fire Chief Guillermo Heard, convened with city officials to discuss the potential inclement weather forecasted for Laredo later this week.

Our Emergency Management team and the Laredo Fire Department are actively participating in regular briefings and receiving updates directly from the National Weather Service. City departments are proactively preparing resources, personnel, and equipment to ensure our community is ready for whatever conditions may arise.

The safety and well-being of our residents is always our top priority. We encourage everyone to monitor local weather updates, prepare ahead, and stay safe.

🚨 Remember: For emergencies, always call 911.

🚒 BREAKING GROUND FOR THE FUTURE OF OUR FLEET! 🛠️

Today marks a major milestone for the Laredo Fire Department and the City of Laredo as we officially broke ground on our brand-new Fleet Maintenance Shop!

Behind every emergency response, every structure fire, and every medical call answered is the frontline apparatus our firefighters rely on. This state-of-the-art facility will provide our maintenance team with the space, tools, and modern resources needed to keep our fire engines, ladder trucks, and ambulances running safely and ready to respond at a moment’s notice.

A special thank you to Mayor Dr. Victor D. Treviño, City Council, Chief Guillermo Heard, and all the city leadership and community members who joined us today to make this critical investment in public safety a reality.

When our community calls, our fleet will always be ready to roll. 🚨

On September 22, the Laredo Fire Pipes & Drums had the honor of participating in a ceremony honoring Corpus Christi Fire Department Captain Arnold “Buddy” Atkinson.

We are grateful for the opportunity to stand alongside our brothers and sisters in the fire service as we remember and honor Captain Atkinson’s service and dedication to his community.🎵🚒

Every step, every floor, every heartbeat dedicated to the fallen.

Thank you, Laredo, for showing up with incredible energy and purpose this past Friday for our annual 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb. From our local first responders carrying full gear to the community members pushing through every flight of stairs, your support made this tribute truly powerful.

We climb so we never forget the heroes of 9/11. Take a look at some of the highlights from Friday’s event—thank you for making it unforgettable! 🚒🇺🇸

Today, we pause to remember the 2,977 lives lost on September 11, 2001, and to honor the heroes who courageously answered the call.

We remember the firefighters, law enforcement officers, first responders, service members, and ordinary citizens who showed extraordinary courage in the face of unimaginable tragedy. Their sacrifice, bravery, and selflessness continue to inspire us 25 years later.

September 11 reminds us of the strength found in unity, the importance of service, and the enduring responsibility to honor those who gave everything for others.

We remember. We honor. We will never forget. 🇺🇸
