We secured major victories for Prince George’s County; wins that protect thousands of jobs, billions in economic opportunity, and the future of two critical federal institutions.

A federal judge blocked the Trump Administration’s illegal attempt to move the FBI Headquarters away from Greenbelt. This ruling preserves a project expected to bring roughly 7,500 jobs and nearly $4 billion in economic investment to Prince George’s County, strengthening our workforce and securing long-term economic growth.

We also successfully challenged the Administration’s effort to close the Beltsville Agricultural Research Center (BARC). The court’s decision protects a nationally significant research campus, preserves local jobs, and ensures BARC remains a cornerstone of agricultural innovation for our region.

These rulings reaffirm our commitment to standing firm for our residents, our economy, and the institutions that shape our shared future.

There are moments in this job that stay with you, and visiting Homestead 24 was one of them. Walking into a tiny home built entirely by PGCPS Career and Technical Education students felt like stepping into the future of Prince George’s County. Their craftsmanship, creativity, and confidence were on full display, and I could not be more proud.

This home is more than a project. It is proof of what happens when we invest in our young people and trust their ability to lead. Every detail, from the kitchen to the loft, reflects the skill and brilliance of students who are already shaping our modern economy and redefining what student innovation looks like.

The auction for Homestead 24 is fueling scholarships, expanding vocational training, and supporting the next build. It is creating a ripple effect that strengthens our workforce and opens doors for future builders, designers, and entrepreneurs.

Prince George’s County is exploring new, flexible, and sustainable housing solutions, and our students are showing us exactly what is possible. Their work is inspiring, their talent is undeniable, and their impact will be felt for years to come.

I am grateful to Keller Williams Preferred Properties for hosting us and to every partner and bidder who showed up with heart and purpose. What a remarkable home. What a remarkable moment for our county.

Today reminded me why Prince George’s County is such a powerful place. I spent the morning with regional leaders, growers, and advocates who care deeply about the future of our food systems and the strength of our communities. It was a joy to welcome everyone to our county and to stand on land that reflects both our economic growth and our agricultural heritage.

Urban agriculture is shaping the future of our region. It creates jobs, expands healthy food access, and strengthens our climate resilience. Our Urban Farm Incubator shows what happens when innovation, community, and purpose come together. It is a real example of how ideas turn into action and how local growers build lasting community wealth.

We are committed to supporting farmers, protecting arable land, and expanding sustainable practices. We are also preparing for our Climate Leadership Summit next month, where food production and environmental stewardship will take center stage.

What we saw today is a model for how our region can grow together. This is the work that builds a greener, healthier, and more resilient future for all of us. Let’s keep moving with intention and collaboration.
