At its October 20 meeting, the Largo City Commission celebrated several initiatives that help make Largo the Community of Choice in Tampa Bay:
McGough Nature Park Improvements: The City received a ceremonial check for $560,000 in state funding, championed by State Representative Berny Jacques and Senator Nick DiCeglie, to support the second phase of the McGough Nature Park Boardwalk Replacement Project and improve accessibility for park visitors.
National Friends of Libraries Week: Commissioners recognized the dedicated volunteers of the Friends of Largo Library, whose generosity, hard work, and commitment ensure the Largo Public Library remains a vibrant place of learning, discovery, and opportunity for the Largo community.
Florida City Government Week: The Commission proclaimed October 19-25 as Florida City Government Week, highlighting opportunities for residents to connect with their local government, stay informed, and get involved in shaping the future of Largo.
The City of Largo is grateful to its community members, volunteers, and agency partners for helping make Largo the community of choice in Tampa Bay. This recognition also highlights Largo’s ongoing commitment to public health and safety and community pride, which are key focus areas of Largo’s Vision 2030 Strategic Plan.
