November is getting close! Get ready for a whole lot of learning, fun and gratitude 🍂🦃

Just a reminder rather than releasing one 12 month calendar for the entire year, we'll be sharing one month at a time. We take pride in keeping our families informed with the most accurate and up-to-date information possible. As schedules change and new events are added, this helps ensure you're always working from the latest version.

Each calendar will be available to download and print in both 8.5" x 11" and 11" x 18" formats, making it easy to hang on the fridge, in the office, or wherever your family keeps track of the busy school year!

You can always find this calendar and the printable versions @ https://www.usd495.com/page/2026-27-school-year-calendar.

7th and 8th grade students participated in a scavenger hunt throughout the school today. In lieu of Red Ribbon Week, the scavenger hunt consisted of searching for fact check answers focused on coping skills and ways to care for our health as we avoid harmful substances. The students were able to win prizes and exceeded expectations!

Orange Spot:

Courtney took a big leap from preschool to fifth grade this year, and she is doing a fantastic job! She has embraced the change with such a positive attitude and has worked hard to create a classroom where her students feel welcomed, supported, and excited to learn. Her students absolutely love her and are genuinely enjoying being in her class. Courtney brings a positive light to the red hallway, and her energy and enthusiasm are contagious. We are so lucky to have her at LES and love watching her shine in this new role!

Our 5th graders explored the world of birds with the Kansas Wetlands Education Center! Students learned how beaks, legs, and feet give clues about where birds live and what they eat. They then created their own birds, researched their features, and shared stories about their creations. Thank you for a fun learning experience!
