🎉 Meerscheidt Recreation Center is refreshed, revitalized, and ready for the community!

The City of Las Cruces celebrated the reopening Oct. 13 with remarks from Mayor Eric Enriquez and District 1 Councilor Cassie McClure, along with special recognition from the Greater Las Cruces Chamber of Commerce and Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.

Thank you to our guest speakers Stacie Allen, Adam Amador and Miguel Acosta, and Mandy Leatherwood from the City of Las Cruces.
Inside, brighter walls, refreshed spaces, dedicated multipurpose rooms for classes and camps, and expanded family gathering areas create a more welcoming environment while freeing up valuable gym time for local sports leagues.

✂️ The celebration wrapped up with a ribbon cutting, marking a new chapter for Meerscheidt and a renewed commitment to providing opportunities for sports, recreation, and community connection!

Who says candy can’t fall from the sky? 👀🍭

Get ready for a boo-tiful day of Halloween fun at the Annual Great Pumpkin Candy Drop! The City of Las Cruces, Friends of the Community and Weaver’s Welding are teaming up to bring a little magic (and LOTS of candy!) to Maag Field!

📅 Sunday, Oct. 25, 2026
📍 Maag Field, 1700 E. Hadley Ave.
🎉 Festivities begin at 11 a.m.
