Happy 4th of July!
On this date in 2002, the Silver Bell Wedding Chapel suffered it’s first of two fires that ultimately ended the chapels history on . The owners, Jim and Vicki Duszynski were having a BBQ and pool party with their family when Jim received a phone call from their employee, Bret who was at chapel saying that it was on fire. Jim thought it was a 4th of July prank until Bret put a fireman on the phone. The BBQ was put out, family quickly dried off and put on their clothes and drove to the chapel. By the time we arrived the flames were put out and we went in to access the damage. Phone calls were made to those who had reservations to be married that day informing them of what happened.
It was determined that the fire was set on purpose supposedly by a homeless person, but they were never found.

Happy Mother's Day to ALL mothers! Jim Duszynski and his brother Don loved and respected their mother Frances. On this Mother’s Day, we are taking a moment to remember Frances who was a strong woman and a wonderful role model for her two boys. She loved them dearly and would do anything for them.

On April 23, 2015, Jim Duszynski died from Stage 4 Lung Cancer. He left behind his wife, Vicki of 27 years, his daughter Porsela (from a previous marriage), a brother, a step daughter, two step grandchildren, and his beloved dog Beau.
Jim happened into the chapel business and fell in love with it! With his natural gift of gab and his desire to make people happy, it was a natural fit for him. I am not saying that he didn’t have a tough time getting the business going or keeping it going for over 45 years; he had struggles just like everyone else. He was always heard saying “That I’ve never had a bad day.” This was not always true, but he was in the business of making couples have a special wedding day - so he never let on whether or not he was having one. He made thousands of couples happy.
The first photo is of young Jim outside the original at
524 S. 5th Street
The second photo was taken of him at the back of the assessing the fire damage to his beloved chapel. I was trying to capture the moment; but he saw me taking photos and gave me his big cheesy smile- instead of capturing the pain he was going through.
We are celebrating Jim’s extraordinary life today. A candle will be lit in our home in remembrance of him. 💙🤍

Since it's - here is a poem that is about love and being together.
“To Be One With Each Other”
- George Eliot
What greater thing is there for two human souls
than to feel that they are joined together to strengthen
each other in all labor, to minister to each other in all sorrow,
to share with each other in all gladness,
to be one with each other in the
silent unspoken memories?
