NV Sr Vice Cmdr and Post Member Luke Bialczak with Veterans from the DAV and students from UNLV attended a Roundtable with Senator Rosen and Congressman Horsford to discuss the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act and the provision that prohibited VA compensation being considered as income for purposes of eligibility
Section 2 of the bill excludes disability benefits received by veterans for the purpose of determining income eligibility for the HUD-Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing program which would have resulted in a large amount of veterans being ineligible for programs to assist in obtaining housing.
This bipartisan bill is now federal law.
