The Muslim Caucus proudly hosted its first annual Iftaar at Jamia Masjid. It was a meaningful evening that brought together elected officials and members of our community. In these challenging times, it is vital that we create spaces for honest dialogue, mutual understanding, and connection and there is no better way to do that than by breaking bread together.

We also extend our deep appreciation to our incredible elected officials — Assemblywoman Brittney Miller, Assemblyman Reuben D’Silva, Hanadi Nadeem, and Judge Nadia Wood — for joining us and lending their voices.

A special thank you to Margie Gonzales and the Fil-Am Dems for collaborating with the Muslim Dems to make this event possible.

And heartfelt gratitude to Maria Teresa Hank and Zena Hajji for expertly moderating the discussion, and to everyone who showed up, participated, and helped make this conversation meaningful.

Together, we are building community, shaping policy, and lifting up the voices of Nevada’s diverse families.

Today we give thanks for our families, our communities, and the many blessings we share. We also hold in our hearts those facing hardship, separation, or uncertainty this holiday season. May this day bring peace, comfort, and connection to every home.
