This is a problem throughout the district. It is not limited to one or two school failures. Children with Dyslexia DO NOT QUALIFY for an IEP (Individual Education Plan) in Clark County. They and their parents are left to fend for themselves. Dyslexia should absolutely be a qualifier for an IEP.

Good news!
🚨 HUGE NEWS: The SUPPORT Act has been signed into law by the President, officially authorizing the FASD Respect Act. This is the culmination of countless hours of work by the FASD community, and we are grateful for the work of our sponsors, Senators Murkowski and Klobuchar and House Champions Representatives McCollum and Bacon over the years. Now, we turn our focus to ensuring FASD Respect Act programs are fully funded and able to make it into your communities.
The FASD Respect Act goes beyond just securing funding for FASD programs. Now that the FASD Respect Act has become law, the federal government is tasked to address FASD through a realigned perspective that supports individuals and families and respects their lived experience. Official passage also allows this community to fight for greater funding for the programs and services that will make a real difference in your lives.
This significant step forward was made possible by the generous donation of time, energy, and charitable giving from the entire FASD community. Self-advocates, parents and caregivers, and professionals across the country donated their time by writing to and meeting with Members of Congress, ensuring they are FASD-informed. Longtime champions like Susan Shepard Carlson spent countless hours drafting legislation and sharing their expertise with advocates. National coordination from FASD United has helped this grassroots movement be sustainable and effective, and this work is fully funded by generous donations from people like you.
We hope you will consider giving to FASD United to allow us to continue this work as we fight for increased funding for FASD Respect Act programs. Support us here: https://fasdunited.org/season-of-giving/

Did you know? Nearly 2.5 million children in the U.S. are growing up in kinship families—being raised by grandparents, other relatives, or close family friends. These families keep children safe and loved, yet often go unseen and unsupported.
This , we’re raising awareness and recommitting to listen, uplift, and work with kinship families all year long. 💜

Foster youth don’t just “bounce back” from school moves. Each move can mean lost learning, new systems to navigate, and relationships to rebuild. ❌
