Today is National School Lunch Hero Day!

We are incredibly proud of our Heroes who tackle the massive feat of fueling student success by delivering 242,000 meals every single day! Our schools simply couldn't function without the dedicated staff working in every kitchen across the district. While much of their hard work happens behind the scenes, their impact is felt by every student, every day.

We are beyond honored to be recognized as Public Health Heroes by the Southern Nevada Health District

This award belongs to every single one of the 2,674 "superheroes" in our department. Whether in the Central Kitchen, at our school sites, or in our offices, every team member plays a vital role in supporting student health and fighting food insecurity within our community.

Because of the Federal Community Eligibility Provision, we’re proud to provide nutritious meals at no cost to every student, regardless of household income. Last school year alone, our team served a staggering 42 million meals!

We couldn't fit all 2,600+ heroes in one frame, but here are some of our Central Kitchen crew, Site Supervisors, and Dietitians representing the heart of our operation! Thank you to everyone within our community for your continued support! Remember, our goal isn’t just to provide meals, it’s to nourish minds and build a sense of community within our schools, one meal at a time!

We had a blast! A huge shout-out to our amazing CCSD Food Service team for showing up in full support at the Spring Student Farmers Market!

Sporky was so amazed by our talented and ambitious students from across the district. Seeing them come together to sell their school-grown produce and handmade crafts was the highlight of the day!

Best of all? All proceeds go right back into the school garden programs!

Small Steps, Big Impact!

Our amazing Dietitian, Jake Yarberry, and Regional Supervisor, Colleen Tola, had a blast visiting the 5th graders at Walter Bracken Magnet!

The entire 5th grade class has been diving deep into their Project Based Learning assignment on food waste. We had a fantastic discussion about:

- Prevention: Creative ways students can reduce waste every day.
- District Impact: How CCSD Food Service is doing its part to fight food waste across the entire district.

It’s inspiring to see these young leaders so passionate about sustainability! 🌍♻️

Ever wonder how we pick our meals? Today, our supervisors stepped into the "testing lab" to try out our latest creations. The results? Delicious. We’re confident our students are going to absolutely love the new items coming soon!
