Clark County Summer Business Institute

The SBI program provides local HS students with an 8-week paid summer internship in their community Qualifying students are then interviewed.

The Summer Business Institute features an eight week internship, which includes business mentoring, life skills training, financial management and a civic engagement project. The program is designed for incoming high school juniors, seniors and college freshmen students. Students are required to complete an application listing their career choices, submit letters of recommendation, write an essay and provide transcripts. The program generates hundreds of applications and interest annually.

Summer Business Institute 2022

Applications Are Now Available!

Clark County is accepting on-line applications for the 2022 Summer Business Institute (SBI) – a summer paid internship program for current high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors. Interviews for the internship positions will be held April 11, 2022, through April 19, 2022.
Through collaborative partnerships, participants will be paid $10.50 an hour for an eight-week internship Monday through Wednesday in fields ranging from law and medicine to architecture and education. On Thursdays, interns will learn about financial management and life skills through virtual seminars. Additionally, all participants may be eligible for college scholarships at the close of the program.
Students must have at least a 2.0 cumulative grade point average and must be a current high school sophomore, junior or senior at the time of application.
Applications must be submitted online no later than 5 p.m. on Friday, March 11, 2022. No paper applications will be distributed or accepted.

Sending prayers and sincere condolences to SBI Alumnus Miyone & MeShayla Ennis as the community celebrates the life of their father Melvin (Beetle) Ennis.

Melvin was an AMAZING supporter of the SBI program, we will be forever grateful for his committed service in SBI Youth Forum Team Building planning sessions. Forever in our hearts.
