We are excited to welcome Jay C. Somers, MS, PA-C, DFAAPA to the Perceptions Counseling Center Team. PA Somers was born and raised in Chicago and in 1998 graduated from The Chicago Medical School in Illinois with a Masters of Science and Physician Assistant degree. He worked in Family Medicine for four years out of school and then transitioned to the specialty of Psychiatry. He has lived in Las Vegas with his family since 2000. His primary focus is on diagnosis and medication management of mental health concerns but also has interest and expertise in nutrition and its role in optimum psychological and physical health functioning. He is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and is a Distinguished Fellow of the American Academy of Physician Assistants. “Medications, diet, therapy, exercise, sleep, etc.… these are all tools, nothing more or less. We need to make sure that we are using the right tools, the best tools, and the tools with the least side-effects to accomplish our goals. Let me help you to address whatever brought you to us.”
