Fire Chief Mark Baxter has retired after almost 30 years with Station #79. He is the last Volunteer to live in Mt. Springs. So Capt. Chuck Hoover is now Chief Chuck Hoover. The problem is I live in Pahump, 25 miles away from the station. I try to cover 3 to 4 days durning the week and my 4 other Volunteers live in Vegas and try to cover weekends. So for about 75 plus % of the time the station is uncovered. We Thank CCFD and PVF&R for their support in responding to calls on both sides of our station.

Veh accident, ran off road, through fence then airborne down the hill into a pile of big rocks. A lady saw the accident and stopped and called 911. She was in the right place at the right time otherwies the veh could not be seen from the road. They saved her life.. The gas tank was smashed on the rocks when it hit them so we stood by untill the wrecker got the veh up the hill. Driver was taken to a Vegas Hospilal.
