Isn’t it amazing how the human brain functions and sends reminders and/or emotional responses in or around the anniversary of a death of a loved one or a major loss? The limbic system, housed in the hippocampus region of the brain is responsible for memory, emotions, alertness, and your ability to develop care and concern for others. This is the portion of the brain that recalls and responds to grief and loss. During this emotional and sensitive time, grief is at the center of your heart and the forefront of your brain. My friends, it is important to know that grief can affect your mind and your body. The reality is TRAUMA changes everything about you. It alters your thinking, behaviors, and sometimes the way you experience people or things.

Jazz in the Park

It's back! We are talking about the popular "Jazz in the Park. Canceled last year, Clark County Parks & Recreation is ready for the 31st year of the concert series at our Amphitheater in Downtown Las .

Here's the 2021 lineup:

▪️ May 22 - Najee
▪️ May 29 - Ottmar Liebert
▪️ June 5 - Nick Colionne

Seating for those with picnic baskets, blankets, and low-back chairs will begin at 5:30pm. Shows begin at 7pm Seating space will be limited due to guidelines. Admission and parking are free. Tickets must be reserved on Eventbrite.com.

Picnics are strongly encouraged. Everyone in attendance will be required to follow all current CDC Guidelines and wear a face mask. Each event will also be live-streamed to the Clark County Parks and Recreation’s page for those who are unable to attend in person.
